Another Australian is set to make his mark in the NBA, after Boomers guard Ryan Broekhoff signed a two-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.
The 27-year-old has spent the past three years at PBC Lokomotiv Kuban in the Russian VTB United League, and had been garnering interest from elsewhere in Europe before signing with the Mavericks.
The 2.01m (6' 7") guard played college ball at Valparaiso University in the United States before he made the move to Europe in 2013. He started his European career at BeÅŸiktaÅŸ Integral Forex in the Turkish Basketball Super League.
A talented three-point shooter, during Lokomotiv Kuban's 2017-18 EuroCup campaign, Broekhoff boasted an impressive 3P% of .506 and an overall FG% of .549, while he averaged 12.3 PPG and 5.5 RPG through 16 games.
