Outlook: You might not even recall that Fokou was on the Saints last season. He signed in November and appeared in only two games on special teams (making a total of three special teams tackles).
Fokou won’t be anyone’s top priority in free agency. But he is an experienced inside linebacker who has started a total of 35 games with the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans since being drafted in the seventh round out of Maryland in 2009. So he might be attractive as an experienced option to add depth and competition -- just as he was to the Saints when they signed him last year.
Fokou has 235 career tackles with three sacks and four forced fumbles. He started the most games of his career (12) for the Titans in 2013. But he was bumped down on the depth chart last summer when the new coaching staff arrived, and he was cut at the end of training camp.
