Maddux returned to the Cubs in 2004 and earned his 300th career victory that year with a win over the Giants on Aug. 7. Eight days later, the Cubs honored him in a pregame ceremony, presenting him with a framed 300 that was made from Wrigley Field scoreboard numbers. Maddux would finish his career with 355 victories.
