News: 21 hours agoSimpson (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as the Rams' emergency third quarterback for Monday's game against the Giants.
Spin: Stetson Bennett will once again serve as the Rams' backup to Matthew Stafford, leaving Simpson as the QB3. As the emergency third quarterback, Simpson will not be allowed to play Monday unless both Bennett and Stafford leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Simpson was selected by the Rams in the first round of April's draft. Simpson was a one-year starter at Alabama and wasn't overly impressive statistically, completing 64% of his passes and posting a pedestrian 76.6 QBR. He's fairly accurate with an average arm, but he's a bit undersized and doesn't figure to move the needle a ton with his legs (62-309-2 rushing in 2025). Simpson won't see the field consistently until Matthew Stafford retires, so he's well off the 2026 fantasy radar. Keep him stashed in dynasty, especially superflex formats.
