Pagan is an interesting prospect. Right off the bat you like the overall size he brings to the table. Has good measureables for the position and on film displays the frame to continue to add more good size in time. He is an active and physical player. He displays a good get-off, but needs to crowd the ball better at times and also be more consistent. For the most part his get-off is good, but at times is a beat late. He displays good power and is like a battering ram. He will try and attack half-a-man and will come out of his stance low and generate power from his lower body. He can deliver a pop and either bully his way past a blocker or knock him on his heels. You like the physicality and power he displays, but he does frustrate you a bit in the sense he does not use his hands. He likes contact and likes to lead with the shoulder and can do some damage, but needs to shoot his hands. When he leads with the shoulder he can get some surge, but can also get caught up with blockers and leave himself in a position to not be able to get off blocks and make the play. He could really be a handful and a playmaker if he will use his hands and separate from blockers. He is tough to get around on the edge because he will error to playing wide. You like that he will play half-a-man, but can tend at times to jump around blocks instead of playing off. He also needs to work on protecting his legs. He moves well for his size and displays good straight-line speed. He is a good tackler. As a pass rusher he will flash the ability to use his weapons and turn his hips. Seems to like the quick slap and hand over, but you want to see that more. He likes to take a wide rush, but doesn't seem to have a plan or be active with his weapons and can run his himself past the pocket. He has a good motor and will play to the whistle. Pagan is a disruptive player with good natural ability, but he needs to develop that one lapse in his game.
