The Boston Celtics took a 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, but they weren't the only winners in the house. Far from it.
During a timeout in the first quarter, Desiree "Des" Linden, the newly crowned Boston Marathon winner and first American woman to win it since 1985, was celebrated on court. As you might imagine, she received a very warm welcome from the crowd.

And, during another break, the Celtics also honored U.S. hockey gold medalists Amanda Pelkey, Haley Skarupa, Cayla Barnes and Kali Flanagan.

Gold-medal-winning cross-country skier Jessie Diggins also was recognized with the hockey team, but there are somehow no pictures or videos on social media that include her moment. I only know because I watched the game and, you know, saw it on TV, and also because one person tweeted about it.
