LAS VEGAS -- James Daniel III scored 22 points and Damon Collins and Marcel Boyd had double-doubles to help Howard beat Central Arkansas 73-54 Wednesday.
Collins had 15 points on 7-for-8 shooting and a career-high 13 rebounds for Howard (3-2). Boyd made all five of his shots for 10 points and had 10 rebounds.
Howard went on a 13-2 run early in the game to lead 19-6 and soon followed that with a 14-0 burst to make it 36-12 at the 6:20 mark, its biggest lead of the game. It was 40-24 at the half and the Bears (1-4), who shot just 25 percent before the break, never threatened.
Howard made 30 of 60 shots despite going 2 of 16 from 3-point range, and made 11 of 12 free throws. The Bison had a 44-25 advantage on points in the paint.
Jordan Howard had 16 points and Justin Foreman 12 for Central Arkansas.
