Jase Richardson scored a game-high 25 points on efficient 10-of-15 shooting, and the Orlando Magic survived a furious fourth-quarter comeback attempt to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers 99-92 in NBA summer league action on Wednesday at Las Vegas' Thomas & Mack Center.
Orlando built a lead as large as 30 points and appeared to be cruising to victory before Philadelphia stormed back late.
Richardson, a first-round pick in last year's NBA draft, added four assists and three steals. Alex Morales recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Magic, while Colin Castleton contributed 14 points and six boards. Noah Penda, another second-year player, filled the stat sheet with 10 points, six rebounds, six assists and three blocks.
The 76ers erased nearly all of the deficit in the final period, cutting the lead to four points in the final minutes. Amani Lyles led Philadelphia with 18 points and six rebounds. Dante Maddox Jr. scored 17 points, and Duke Miles added 15 points off the bench.
2026 first-round pick Labaron Philon Jr. had a difficult shooting night for Philadelphia. The No. 22 selection finished with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists but shot just 7-for-24 from the field, including 1-for-13 from 3-point range.
After the 76ers cut the lead to 93-89 on a 3-pointer by Lyles with 1:37 remaining, Orlando managed to hold on. A layup by Richardson with 1:15 left built the Magic's lead to six points, and Penda sealed the game with two free throws with 26 seconds to go.
