First-round draft pick Allen Graves scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Toronto Raptors to a 99-90 victory over the Miami Heat in NBA summer league play Thursday at the Pavilion in Las Vegas.
Graves, the 19th pick this year, shot 8-for-16 from the field, including four 3-pointers. Seth Lundy provided 19 points, six assists and three steals for the Raptors. Rookie Nate Bittle added 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, while Nimari Burnett and Tyreke Key contributed 10 and 11 points, respectively. Second-round pick Jaden Bradley, the No. 50 selection, added four points and six assists.
Heat guard Jahmir Young led all scorers with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Tre White scored 19 points, and rookie Tre Donaldson had 11 points and eight assists.
The game was a tale of major momentum swings. Toronto used a dominant second quarter, outscoring Miami 38-24, to build a 17-point lead near halftime. However, the Heat chipped away at the deficit and eventually tied the score at 80-80 in the fourth quarter. The Raptors responded decisively, reclaiming the lead on a 3-pointer from Graves and later extending it to 91-84 on a 3-pointer by Key with 3:35 remaining to secure the win.
