Nets romp past 76ers in preseason, 127-97
PHILADELPHIA -- Christopher Johnson and Mirza Teletovic each scored 21 points to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 127-97 preseason victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night.
Joe Johnson had 18 points, Brook Lopez scored 17 and .Shaun Livingston had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Nets.
The Nets rested Paul Pierce, Deron Williams and Andrei Kirilenko in their third preseason game.
Evan Turner scored 23 points for the Sixers, and Thaddeus Young and Michael Carter-Williams both scored 12.
The Nets made 14 of their first 23 shots and the starters led them to a 65-49 halftime lead. The Nets shot 59 percent in the first half against a Sixers team that is rebuilding for the long haul.
First-year Philadelphia coach Brett Brown kept at least three starters in the game until the end. Brown called two late timeouts after two Brooklyn 3s stretched the lead to 31.
