News: 3 days agoThe Dream announced Monday that Jones is recovering from right knee surgery and is without a timetable to return, Sara Jane Gamelli of BallisLife.com reports.
Spin: Jones suffered a torn meniscus back in February while playing overseas for USK Praha, and she's recovering surgery to begin training camp ahead of the 2026 WNBA season. During the 2025 campaign, she averaged 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 26.6 minutes per game, and she hasn't missed a regular-season game in the past two seasons. It's not yet clear when she'll be able to return, but Naz Hillmon and rookie Madina Okot are candidates to see increased playing time if Jones is sidelined for any regular-season action.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: After spending the first eight years of her career in Connecticut, Jones signed a one-year deal with the Dream in 2025. The veteran center played a key role for Atlanta and earned her fourth career All-Star selection, averaging 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.9 combined steals-plus-blocks while shooting 52.7 percent from the field in 26.6 minutes per contest across 44 regular-season games. However, Jones sustained a meniscus tear while playing overseas for USK Praha this offseason and underwent surgery in February. She'll remain with Atlanta in 2026 and is slated to work alongside new acquisition Angel Reese in the frontcourt, but the Dream announced in mid-April that Jones is recovering from right knee surgery and will be sidelined indefinitely, so it's not yet clear when she'll be able to make her season debut.
