ESPN Fantasy Projection: Smith earned All-Defensive First Team honors for the first time in her career last season and was named co-Defensive Player of the Year alongside A'ja Wilson. After being a fringe rotation player during her first four seasons in the WNBA, Smith turned heads in Chicago during the 2023 campaign and has flourished into a reliable starter on a championship contender in Minnesota. Most of her fantasy production comes defensively. She's averaged at least one steal and one block per game in three straight seasons, including a career-high 3.2 stocks per game last year. She's a capable three-point shooter, but her efficiency dipped slightly last year (32.9 percent on 3.8 attempts per game) compared to 2024, when she made a career-high 39.8 percent of her 3.0 tries a night. The rest of her offensive game leaves room for growth, but her defensive upside makes Smith a safe early-round pick, regardless of where she ends up in unrestricted free agency.
