News: 1 day agoMiles recorded eight points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, two assists and a steal in 17 minutes during Saturday's 77-66 preseason win over Washington.
Spin: Miles earned a starting role during Saturday's preseason opener and led the team's starting unit in scoring during the victory. Although Kayla McBride (rest) sat out Saturday's matchup, Miles will likely have an opportunity to maintain a starting role for Minnesota once the regular season begins after the team selected her with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Miles was in the conversation to go No. 1 overall in the 2026 WNBA Draft, but she instead joined an established contender in the Lynx at No. 2. Miles transferred to TCU after four impressive seasons with Notre Dame, and she took another step with the Horned Frogs, averaging a career-best 19.6 points to go with 7.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.8 steals in 35.4 minutes per game, but she did also average 3.7 turnovers. Her three-point volume has increased across the past two seasons, which should help her chances of being an immediate contributor alongside Kayla McBride and Courtney Williams in the backcourt. Miles should have the opportunity to step in as Minnesota's point guard and will have immediate opportunities to contribute, especially if Napheesa Collier misses time due to her ankle injury, while also learning from an established group of veterans.
