Left-handed reliever Scott Barnes was claimed on outright waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays and right-handed reliever Ben Rowen has cleared unconditional release waivers and becomes a free agent.
On Dec. 16, Barnes and Rowen were designated for assignment by the Texas Rangers.
The Rangers received Barnes from the Baltimore Orioles on a Dec. 8 waiver claim and Rowen, who made eight relief outings for the Rangers in 2014, spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Round Rock.
Rowen made 34 relief appearances for Round Rock.
