CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Larry Nance Jr. left Tuesday’s 117-113 loss to the Charlotte Hornets with a left knee injury and did not return.
X-rays taken during the game were negative, and he’s scheduled to have an MRI exam Wednesday in Miami, where the Lakers will head to face the Heat on Thursday.
Nance, a second-year player, apparently suffered the injury in the third quarter while chasing a loose ball. He briefly grabbed his left knee and had to be helped to the locker room by his teammates. After the game, Nance was seen standing on crutches.
The Lakers said they’ll have more information Wednesday about Nance's status moving forward.
“However long he’s out is going to be a huge loss for us,” said Lakers coach Luke Walton.
Nance finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists in nearly 21 minutes against the Hornets. The Lakers (11-20) have lost 10 of their last 11 games.
