There might be no more effective reliever in the majors than Zach Britton, who is 35-for-35 in save chances with a 0.56 ERA for the Baltimore Orioles. In fact, ESPN.com’s David Schoenfield is floating the idea of Britton receiving some consideration for the American League Cy Young Award, given there is no clear favorite.

Britton, however, has been the only left-hander carrying his weight in the Baltimore bullpen, so the Orioles are in the market for another southpaw reliever, reports Jon Heyman of TodaysKnuckleball.com.
The Orioles recently signed Logan Ondrusek, a right-hander with a history of success against lefty hitters, but he has a 1.50 WHIP in his first six outings.
When rosters expand next month, the Orioles could bring back left-handed relievers such as Donnie Hart and Ashur Tolliver, who had some success in limited situational opportunities, suggests Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun.
In the meantime, executive VP Dan Duquette is likely scanning the waiver wire.
