The San Diego Padres are showing a continued interest in free-agent starters Doug Fister, Jake Peavy and Jered Weaver, reports Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, citing a source.
Of the three, Weaver is considered the least likely option, tweets Rosenthal.
When it comes to experience, Peavy leads the pack with 15 years in the major leagues. Weaver's been in the big leagues for 11 years and Fister 8.

Peavy spent the first eight seasons of his career with the Padres before being dealt to the Chicago White Sox at the 2009 trade deadline. The righty received two of his three All-Star nods while with the Pads and won the NL Cy Young Award in 2007.
In 31 appearances (21 starts) for the San Francisco Giants last season Peavy, 35, was 5-9 with a 5.54 ERA, recording 102 strikeouts over 118 2/3 innings.
Weaver has spent the entirety of his major league career with the Los Angeles Angels. He was named an All-Star in three consecutive seasons from 2010 to 2012, finishing in the top five for AL Cy Young voting each of those years.
Weaver went 12-12 in 31 starts for the Halos, who were injury-riddled in the rotation last season. The 34-year-old struck out 103 batters in 178 innings while posting a career-worst 5.06 ERA.
In 32 starts for the Houston Astros last season, Fister, 32, went 12-13 and posted a 4.64 ERA. The righty had 115 punchouts in 180 1/3 innings.
