The Orlando Magic only have Ersan Ilyasova and Andrew Nicholson listed at power forward on their roster entering the offseason. However, both can become free agents on July 1.
This leaves the Magic needing to find a versatile forward in the draft or through free agency. Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel believes the Magic should target Al Horford, Chandler Parsons or Ryan Anderson this offseason.
Schmitz writes about the Magic's vacant power forward position and looks at a few possible players to fill the void:
- "In the pursuit of a big forward to complement center Nik Vucevic, the Magic should be on Al Horford's crowded doorstep the minute free agency opens July 1. The line will be long. They might also need to express their love for 3-point shooting forwards Ryan Anderson and Chandler Parsons. The Magic figure to have a better shot at signing either one of them over Horford. ... Free agents prefer to sign with winners, and that's still the weakest part of the Magic's recruiting pitch."
