The Sacramento Kings signed 2016 second-round pick Isaiah Cousins on Tuesday, per their website. According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Cousins' deal is for one year and includes some guaranteed money.

Cousins was the No. 59 selection in the 2016 draft out of Oklahoma and averaged 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists last season as a senior. He played on the Kings' Summer League team in July and averaged 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
Cousins will likely enter training camp in a competition with seven-year NBA veteran Ty Lawson for the third point guard spot behind Darren Collison and Garrett Temple. Lawson was added to the roster on Aug. 30 after signing a one-year contract that offers no salary protection.
Should the Kings decide to release Cousins, they will wait until late in the preseason so he will be designated to their D-League affiliate, the Reno Bighorns.
