New York Knicks power forward Kristaps Porzingis' competitive streak extends to video games, apparently.
Thanks to Kevin Seraphin's Snapchat, we have a peek into just how passionate Porzingis is about playing the video game FIFA.
In a video posted by Seraphin, Porzingis discusses losing to Sasha Vujacic in FIFA – and then graphically describes how he'll handle Vujacic the next time they play.
"I'm the champ; every champ once in a while falls down," Porzingis says. "I can't wait to get another chance, I'm going to eat him alive. ...I'm going to come back and murder him, eat him like a gazelle and you're going to watch him bleed."
Wow.
Porzingis has to channel his competitive fire to video games now because he's been unable to take the court lately.
The 20-year-old is sidelined with a right shoulder strain and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Indiana (7:30 p.m. ET). The Knicks are going to be cautious with Porzingis; there's a chance he misses the final five games of the season.
Whether or not the rookie returns to the court this season, his drive has left a strong impression on the organization in Year 1.
"He's such a fierce competitor that he's going to take on challenges, it doesn't matter what the situation is," interim coach Kurt Rambis said Friday. "He has this incredible desire to be a complete all-around ball player and be one of the great players that have ever played this game. He's really driven, he really is."
