HARRISBURG 4, BINGHAMTON 3 (11 innings): Stephen Perez delivered a game-deciding pinch-hit RBI double in the top of the 11th against Luis Mateo. Kevin Keyes had reached on a leadoff walk. Chris Bostick then beat out a potential double-play grounder and stood at first with one out. Perez plated Bostick. Abel De Los Santos worked around a leadoff walk in the bottom half for the save. Harrisburg had taken a 1-0 lead in the third against Kyle Regnault when Rafael Bautista scored on Wilmer Difo's single. The Senators added to their lead in the fifth on Bautista's sacrifice fly, which plated Adrian Sanchez. The B-Mets put up all three of their runs in the home fifth. Maikis De La Cruz led off with a walk, L.J. Mazzilli poked a pinch-hit single and Jeff McNeil walked to load the bases. Victor Cruzado followed with a two-run single. Dominic Smith later bounced into a double play that knocked in McNeil from third to give Binghamton a 3-2 lead. The Senators answered in the top of the sixth against Logan Taylor as Bautista lined a sacrifice fly. Regnault allowed two runs on four hits and a walk in five innings in his Double-A debut. Highly regarded prospect Lucas Giolito tossed four scoreless innings with one hit, three walks and four strikeouts for the Senators. Box
ST. LUCIE 1, DUNEDIN 0: Casey Delgado had a stellar Florida State League debut and Amed Rosario scored the game’s lone run. Delgado, the final starter in a six-man rotation, allowed two hits -- both singles -- over six innings. He stranded four runners in scoring position over the first three innings, then went into cruise control by retiring 10 of the final 11 batters he faced. Delgado walked three and struck out five. Rosario opened the sixth with a triple to left-center against Conner Greene. Shortstop Richard Urena’s late relay throw to third base sailed into the Mets' dugout and Rosario was awarded home. The Mets bullpen took over from there. Alberto Baldonado tossed 1 2/3 no-hit innings and Corey Taylor retired all four batters he faced for his first professional save. Defensively, Patrick Biondi and Kevin Taylor made game-saving catches in the eighth. Biondi tracked down a fly ball to deep right-center with a runner on first base. Kevin Taylor snagged a liner at first base that appeared headed down the line, which would have plated a run. The Blue Jays did not produce a hit after the leadoff batter of the second inning. On his 22nd birthday, Tomas Nido singled to extend his hitting streak to five games. John Mora dropped down a bunt single to stretch his hitting streak to six games. Box
COLUMBIA 3, ROME 1; COLUMBIA 3, ROME 2: Starter Tyler Badamo tossed a gem in the opener, allowing one run in six innings, and Columbia ultimately went on to sweep the doubleheader. In Game 1, Tyler Moore singled and Milton Ramos walked in the second inning. Both scored when Ivan Wilson doubled against Touki Toussaint. David Thompson added an RBI double the following inning to open a 3-1 lead. Johnny Magliozzi tossed a perfect seventh for his first save. In Game 2, Rome's Austin Riley produced a solo homer in the first inning against Joe Shaw. Afterward, Shaw settled down in his first start of the season. He struck out a career-high eight. Rome took a 2-0 lead in the sixth against Shaw. Braves starter Mike Soroka departed after six scoreless innings, during which Columbia mustered one hit. In the seventh, Matt Custred walked Kevin Kaczmarski and Vinny Siena. Taylor Lewis entered, and Thompson tattooed a liner that was misplayed by left fielder Justin Ellison. The error enabled Kaczmarski to score. Siena and Thompson both reached scoring position. An intentional walk to J.C. Rodriguez loaded the bases. Jeff Diehl's groundout allowed Siena to race home and even the score at 2. Joe Tuschak then drove in the go-ahead run when he beat out a grounder that rolled softly up the third-base line.
