LAS VEGAS 6, COLORADO SPRINGS 4: Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead the 51s. Nimmo's two-run double in the fifth staked Las Vegas to a 4-1 lead. After Colorado Springs pulled within a run, Nimmo delivered another two-run double in the sixth. With the tying runs on base in the bottom of the ninth, Josh Edgin entered and struck out Andy Wilkins. Chasen Bradford then took over and earned his third save with a game-ending strikeout of Will Middlebrooks. Box
AKRON 7, BINGHAMTON 1: The B-Mets collected only five hits -- all singles -- and went hitless in their final 16 at-bats. Binghamton suffered its 13th loss in 16 games. B-Mets starter Casey Delgado fanned Akron cleanup hitter Nellie Rodriguez with the bases loaded in the third. It was one of Delgado's season-high seven strikeouts. But Delgado failed to escape the inning unharmed. Catcher Xorge Carrillo muffed Delgado's next pitch, enabling Todd Hankins to score Akron’s second run. Eric Haase followed with a two-out, two-run double for a 4-0 lead. L.J. Mazzilli provided Binghamton’s only run with a two-out RBI single in the fourth against Akron starter Michael Peoples -- the B-Mets’ final hit of the game. Akron tacked on three runs in the seventh, highlighted by a two-run homer by Haase against Mike Hepple. Delgado (1-2) allowed four runs on four hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings. Box
ST. LUCIE 2, DAYTONA 0: Corey Oswalt scattered three singles over six scoreless innings and combined with Kevin McGowan and Corey Taylor on the shutout. Oswalt walked one, struck out five and helped his cause by picking off two baserunners. McGowan retired all six batters he faced. Taylor recorded his fourth save when he induced a game-ending 6-4-3 double play. Luis Guillorme's single in the third scored Jonathan Johnson and Champ Stuart. Johnson started the rally with a two-out infield single. Stuart reached on Tortugas shortstop Blake Trahan's error. Each team mustered only three hits. Box
CHARLESTON 4, COLUMBIA 3: Fireflies starter Chase Ingram allowed four runs on six hits and three walks in five innings. J.C. Rodriguez scored on Milton Ramos' groundout in the eighth to pull Columbia within a run, but Patrick Mazeika was stranded at second base when Dash Winningham struck out. South Atlantic League RBI leader David Thompson landed on the disabled list before the game. Box
