Terry Collins will get to work with Ruben Tejada plenty during spring training.
Tejada and Panama lost to Brazil, 1-0, Monday night in a winner-take-all qualifier for the World Baseball Classic, which will be held in March.
Tejada went 0-for-3. He hit .313 during the qualifying tournament.
Mets farmhand Angel Cuan started and suffered the hard-luck loss. Cuan allowed one run on eight hits while striking out six and walking none in four innings. Manny Acosta struck out the lone batter he faced.
