PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Frank Francisco, who has been shut down from throwing since camp began because of inflammation in his surgically cleaned right elbow, is expected to be cleared for light baseball tossing in four or five days.
Francisco had a bone spur removed from the elbow in December. He was unable to rehab properly because of personal issues, Sandy Alderson said.
Bobbby Parnell has been informed by Terry Collins to prepare for the closer role.
