MIAMI -- A four-game sweep of the Yankees and then this?
Shaun Marcum took a scoreless effort into the seventh inning, but the Mets nonetheless watched their five-game winning streak end with a 5-1 loss to the lowly Miami Marlins on Friday night at Marlins Park.

Ed Lucas, a 31-year-old rookie who made his major league debut Thursday, delivered a tiebreaking RBI single with one out in what became a four-run seventh. Jeff Mathis contributed a sacrifice fly and Jordan Brown had a two-run double to chase Marcum.
The Marlins snapped a nine-game losing streak and avoided matching their franchise record for most losses in a calendar month in franchise history (23 in June 2011). Miami leads the season series, 4-3.
The Mets? They watched the good feelings from their first-ever season sweep of the Yankees dissipate in the humid Miami air.
Marcum dropped to 0-6 in eight appearances (seven starts) as a Met. He had retired the first nine batters he faced and escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth after an intentional walk by coaxing a 4-6-3 double play from Mathis.
Marcum’s final line: 6.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB (1 IBB), 4 K. He threw 97 pitches (66 strikes).
Daniel Murphy got the Mets on the scoreboard with an eighth-inning RBI double.
I charting: Ike Davis produced his first extra-base hit since May 9 on a fifth-inning double against Jacob Turner, who was making his season debut.
But Davis’ hit did not drive in a run because Marlon Byrd had been caught stealing, 1-6, when he broke with Turner still holding the ball.
Turner, obtained last year by Miami in the Anibal Sanchez trade, tossed seven scoreless innings after being promoted from Triple-A New Orleans.
Q E-2: Omar Quintanilla had his second error in two games, leading to an unearned run in the eighth.
What’s next: Collin McHugh makes his first major league start this season, subbing for Jonathon Niese (shoulder tendinitis). McHugh starts opposite Marlins rookie Jose Fernandez (2-3, 3.78 ERA) at 4:10 p.m.
