Close to zero, a team official told ESPNNewYork.com.
In an ideal world, the Mets would be able to trade C.Y. before the July 31 deadline -- or even before Aug. 31, since his $7.25 million contract should easily pass through waivers. But even a team insider acknowledged having a market for him is a long-shot given his current production, even if the Mets picked up the remaining salary.
In the series opener at Busch Stadium, C.Y. is out of the lineup for a second straight day since striking out four times Saturday. He is hitting .196 with four homers in 163 at-bats.
The Mets demoted Andrew Brown to clear the roster spot for the return of E.Y. Jr. from the disabled list. Terry Collins indicated a primary factor in selecting Brown over Matt den Dekker is den Dekker's ability to play center field.
