PITTSBURGH -- Left-handed reliever Scott Rice landed on the disabled list with Triple-A Las Vegas with an elbow issue.
No structural damage was detected during an exam, so the Mets hope the absence is minimal.
Rice last appeared Monday, when he surrendered two walks and a hit and uncorked two wild pitches while recording only two outs with the 51s. He had a 5.93 ERA and 1.976 WHIP with the Mets before being demoted on June 11.
