Ryan White of the Montreal Canadiens has been offered an in-person hearing with the NHL for an illegal check to the head, the league announced Tuesday.
The hearing will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in New York.
White was given a match penalty for a check to the head of Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Kent Huskins in Monday night’s game at Montreal. Huskins left the game with what the team announced was a concussion.
By offering White an in-person hearing, it means the league can suspend him more than five games if it chooses to do so.
White has no suspension history with the NHL.
