With their 118-112 win over the Miami Heat, the Golden State Warriors improved their record to 51-5, the best start through 56 games in NBA history. The Warriors can clinch a playoff spot Thursday with a win on the road against the Orlando Magic and a Houston Rockets loss.
Here are some of the numbers from Wednesday night’s Warriors win:
2 -- It is the second time this season that both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson scored 30 or more points in the same game. The previous game was Jan. 4 against the Charlotte Hornets.
9 -- Curry had his ninth game of at least 40 points, breaking a tie with James Harden for most such games in the NBA this season.
10 -- With 42 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Curry had his 10th game this season of at least 35-5-5.
11 -- It was the 11th game this season in which Curry made at least six 3-point field goals and six free throws in the same game. No other player in the NBA has more than three such games.
+13 -- The small lineup with Draymond Green as the lone big man was a plus-13. On the season, with Green as the lone big man, the Warriors are a plus-236.
27 -- In the final eight minutes of the game, 27 of the Warriors' 29 points were scored by either Thompson or Curry. Green hit two free throws.
40 -- The shot Curry made to end the first quarter was taken 40 feet from the basket. Curry is 3-of-9 on shots 40-plus feet from the basket this season.
75 -- The Splash Brothers combined for 75 points, tied for their greatest combined total this season. They also combined for 75 points on Feb. 3 at the Wizards. Curry and Thompson have four games this season in which they have combined for 70 or more points.
127 -- With his first shot of the game, Curry equaled Kyle Korver’s record for consecutive games with at least one 3-pointer at 127 games.
