Finally, the Philadelphia 76ers have a winning streak.
The 76ers went a stretch of 108 straight games without winning two in a row, which according to Elias Sports Bureau research is the longest such streak in NBA history (the Milwaukee Bucks had a 105-game streak spanning 2013 and 2014). That stretch ended with Monday’s win over the Miami Heat.
The 76ers are 4-10 this season. They started 3-33 before picking up their fourth win last season (oddly, they got their fourth win of the 2015-16 season in 2016 and their fourth win of the 2016-17 season in 2016). They’ve won four straight home games after losing their first five. This is the first time they’ve won consecutive games in the month of November since Nov. 1-2, 2013.
Embiid keeps scoring
Joel Embiid continued his rapid scoring pace, racking up 22 points in 23 minutes in Monday’s win. Embiid has 184 points in 221 career minutes, a rate of 30 points per 36 minutes. For those curious, the NBA record for points per 36 minutes is 28.3, by Michael Jordan.
Embiid has five 20-point games, all of which came in games in which he played 26 minutes or fewer (the five in 26 minutes are the most such games in the NBA).
Embiid made his 11th 3-pointer of the season on Monday. He has more 3-pointers in his first 10 games than Stephen Curry made in his first 10 games. Curry made nine in 56 more minutes.
