Alycia Baumgardner will step up a weight class and fight IBF lightweight champion Elif Nur Turhan on Nov. 8 in Arlington, Texas, Most Valuable Promotions have confirmed.
Baumgardner (18-1, 7 KOs), the unified WBO, IBF and WBA junior lightweight title holder moves up to 135 pounds in a bid to become a two-division world champion.
The bout will headline MVPW-07, with WBC featherweight champion Tiara Brown set to defend her belt when she faces former undisputed junior featherweight champion Ellie Scotney, who is also moving up a weight class, in the co-main event.
Skye Nicolson will make her MVP debut in a rescheduled bout against Miyo Yoshida after their original clash was postponed after Nicolson withdrew due to injury.
Ramla Ali will also feature on the card, facing the unbeaten Mikiah Kreps for the WBO and IBF junior featherweight belts.
The card will be broadcast on ESPN and streamed on the ESPN App.
Turhan (14-0, 8 KOs), who recently joined MVP from Matchroom, is unbeaten and considered one of the best talents in women's boxing.
"Alycia is a boxer who steps into the ring determined to win, never even entertaining the possibility of defeat; I know I am proud to be representing Turkiye on such a major international stage as I face an opponent who steps into the ring solely for victory," Turhan said.
"I do not want to lose, either. As two boxers sharing a 'win at all costs' mentality, we guarantee a fierce, relentless battle where everything is left on the line. Two warriors, one fight, and only one winner."
Baumgardner, who also joined MVP from Matchroom in March 2025, is keen to establish herself as the face of women's boxing.
The 32-year-old has been a strong advocate for women fighting three-minute rounds and her clash with Turhan will be a compromise of 10 three-minute rounds.
It will be the first time Turhan has fought under those rules as a professional.
"When I set my mind to something, I see it through, and 135 will be no different," Baumgardner said. "Sunday, Nov. 8 is a super-fight -- the kind of fight boxing deserves -- and the beginning of my next chapter. I know what it takes to become undisputed. I've done it before, and I'll do it again.
"To everyone in Dallas-Fort Worth and Arlington, this is my backyard, and I want you there with me. Come out to College Park Center, be part of the moment, and watch me make history."
The pair will clash at a launch news conference in Birmingham, England on Thursday ahead of Mikaela Mayer vs. Chantelle Cameron on Saturday.
MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said the event will be one of the biggest the promotion has ever produced.
"MVPW-07 is one of the biggest championship events in boxing history, with four back-to-back world title fights, bringing together eight elite fighters from around the world with belts at stake in every matchup," Bidarian said.
"Elif Nur Turhan joined MVP to take on the biggest fights in the sport, and in her first event under the MVP banner she will defend her IBF lightweight world title against pound-for-pound great Alycia Baumgardner, one of the most dominant champions of this generation, as Alycia steps up to 135 pounds in pursuit of becoming a two-division world champion."
Scotney moves up
Brown (21-0, 11 KOs) will defend her WBC strap against the unbeaten Brit Scotney (12-0). The fight will be Scotney's first at 126lbs (featherweight) after she collected all the belts at junior featherweight in April.
Brown will look to defend her belt for the third time.
"She may have been the youngest undisputed champion in UK history, but I'm not stepping into the ring to admire her history," Brown said.
"I'm stepping in to make my own. I'm a seasoned veteran who has been overlooked, but never outworked. Come fight night, we'll see who's truly built for greatness."
