CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival was placed on the long-term injured reserve on Tuesday.
Rozsival is still recovering from fracturing his left ankle during the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs last season. He underwent surgery on May 12. He has returned to the ice and been skating but has yet to join the team's practices. He must remain on the long-term injured reserve for at least 24 days and 10 games.
Rozsival had one goal, 12 assists and averaged 17 minutes, 1 second of ice time during 65 regular-season games last season. He re-signed with the Blackhawks on a one-year, $600,000 contract last month.
The Blackhawks also recalled defenseman Ville Pokka from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs and re-assigned defenseman Viktor Svedberg to the IceHogs on Tuesday.
