Maddux Moves On

Despite winning the first of his four Cy Young awards in 1992, it would be the end of Maddux's first stint with the Cubs. With Maddux a free agent after that season, his agent, Scott Boras, and Cubs GM Larry Himes were unable to reach a deal after contentious negotiations. Maddux instead signed a five-year, $28 million deal with the Braves.
