News: 11 hours agoShough completed 27 of 34 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown while adding 23 yards and a TD on nine carries in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Ravens.
Spin: The second-year QB had a slow start to the contest, but Shough engineered another second-half comeback for the Saints, and this one was actually successful. He hit Chris Olave for a 21-yard TD early in the fourth quarter before just getting across the goal line for a one-yard score inside the final two minutes. Shough has 662 passing yards and a 4:2 TD:INT through two games to begin the season, and he'll take plenty of confidence and momentum into a Week 3 home clash with the Raiders.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: One of the surprise second-half breakout players of 2025, Shough scored 17-plus fantasy points in seven of his nine full games, including six straight to end the season. The 2025 second-round pick was a solid producer with his arm (250.1 passing yards per game) and his legs (19.3 rushing yards per game and three TDs). Shough didn't show a high ceiling (he never reached 22 fantasy points in a game), though that can be traced to a shaky supporting cast. That's an area that should be better in 2026 with Travis Etienne Jr. and No. 8 overall pick Jordyn Tyson (once healthy) joining the team. He's still unproven, but Shough enters Year 2 (same as coach Kellen Moore) as an intriguing fantasy breakout candidate. He's worth a look in the later rounds.
