Wagner Seahawks @ Georgetown Hoyas
Georgetown 13, Wagner 10
WASHINGTON -- Matt MacZura kicked two field goals, the second a 35-yarder with 1:42 to play to give Georgetown a narrow 13-10 victory over Wagner Saturday in a non-conference game.
The Hoyas, who improved to 2-0, had a 166-94 edge in rushing yardage. That included quarterback Aaron Aiken's 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, giving Georgetown a 10-7 lead.
Nick Doscher's 12-yard touchdown pass to Bryant Watts in the first quarter opened the scoring for the Seahawks, who lost a close game for the second straight week. In last week's opener, Wagner's only points came on a David Lopez field goal in a 7-3 loss at Florida Atlantic. This time, Lopez connected again on a 44-yard field goal to tie the game at 10-10 in the fourth quarter.
But then MacZura converted his game-winning 35-yard kick and the Hoyas held on for the win.
