Fordham Rams @ Bucknell Bison
Bucknell 27, Fordham 24
LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Tyler Smith scored three touchdowns, including a pair in the second half, as Bucknell snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 27-24 victory over Fordham Saturday in a matchup of Patriot League foes.
The win helped the Bison (2-7) avoid their first eight-game losing streak since 1957-58.
Bucknell fell in a 21-7 hole at the half, but two second-half field goals by Sean Corbelli paired with a 26-yard TD reception and 14-yard TD run by Smith lifted the Bison to a 27-21 advantage with 9:04 to play.
Smith also ran in a 76-yard score in the first quarter, and finished with 179 yards on 29 carries.
For Fordham (5-4), Carlton Koonce ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries, and Patrick Murray connected for three field goals.
The game did not count toward either team's conference record due to Fordham's use of merit aide scholarships for football.
