Central Michigan Chippewas @ Massachusetts Minutemen
Cent. Michigan 42, UMass 21
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Zurlon Tipton etched his name into the Central Michigan record books as the Chippewas routed Massachusetts 42-21 Friday in each team's Mid-American Conference finale.
The win earned the Chippewas (6-6, 4-4) bowl eligibility for the first time since 2009-10.
Tipton ran for 185 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries. The junior finished the season with 20 touchdowns -- 19 on the ground -- tying him with Dan LeFevour's 2007 marks for the second highest single-season output in each category in the program's history. Tipton finished the season with 1,391 yards, the seventh best single-season mark at the school.
The 100-yard game was Tipton's sixth straight.
Cody Wilson caught five passes for 26 yards, and has a reception in 41 consecutive games, the second longest streak in college football behind Duke's Conner Vernon (46).
Rob Blanchflower had 10 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown for UMass (1-11, 1-7).
