Holy Cross Crusaders @ Dartmouth Big Green
Holy Cross downs Dartmouth 31-28 in final minute
HANOVER, N.H. -- Pete Pujals accounted for four total touchdowns and amassed 415 all-purpose yards in his first collegiate start, guiding Holy Cross to a 31-28 victory over Dartmouth Saturday night.
Pujals engineered a fourth-quarter drive that set up John Macomber's 23-yard field goal with less than a minute left to send the Crusaders (2-3) over Dartmouth (1-1). Holy Cross recovered a Big Green fumble on the ensuing kickoff, eliminating any chance of a Dartmouth win in the 77th meeting between the two schools.
Dartmouth entered the fourth quarter with a 28-21 lead, but Pujals broke free for a 58-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 28-28 just 38 seconds into the final frame.
Pujals was the game's leading passer and rusher, throwing two touchdowns on 290 yards passing and rushing for 125 yards and two scores.
Dalyn Williams produced 273 yards passing and three touchdowns to lead Dartmouth.
