Alabama A&M outlasts Texas Southern in 12-10 win
NORMAL, Ala. -- Brandon Wells scored a four-yard rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter to help Alabama A&M outlast Texas Southern 12-10 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference matchup Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (2-3, 2-1 SWAC) got on the board first with a 64-yard touchdown run by Brandon Eldemire and led 6-3 at halftime.
The Tigers (0-4, 0-3 SWAC) jumped ahead late in the third as Edward Perkins-Loving scored from six yards out.
Alabama A&M drove 49 yards on eight plays and Wells rushed for the go-ahead score, putting the Bulldogs back on top 12-10 with 1:48 remaining following a missed extra point.
Texas Southern drove to the Bulldogs 25, but Eric Medina missed a 42-yard field goal attempt, keeping the Tigers winless.
Eldemire ran for 83 yards on six carries and Wells combined with Jaymason Lee for 123 yards passing.
Jaquaa Peters had 121 yards receiving on five catches for Texas Southern.
