Stony Brook dominates Albany in 24-3
STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- Lyle Negron threw for a touchdown and ran for another and the defense was dominating as Stony Brook throttled Albany 24-3 on Saturday.
The Seawolves (5-6, 3-5 Colonial Athletic Association) limited the Great Danes (1-11, 0-7) to just 239 yards, while piling up 456.
Malcolm Eugene caught seven passes for 150 yards, including a 91-yard touchdown in the opening minute of the second quarter that made it 21-0. That played tied the school record for longest reception since the Seawolves moved to Division I. James Kenner helped control the clock, rushing 35 times for 151 yards. The difference in time of possession was 13 minutes.
Negron, who completed 15 of 26 passes for 262 yards, and Tyler Fredericks both had a short touchdown runs in the first quarter.
