Delaware beats James Madison 30-23 in OT
HARRISONBURG, Va. -- With a third touchdown pass from Trent Hurley and a goal-line stand, Delaware held on to beat James Madison 30-23 in overtime Saturday.
Hurley's pass to Jerel Harrison in overtime gave the Fightin' Blue Hens (3-1, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association) the lead. The Delaware defense then stopped the Dukes' Taylor Woods on fourth-and-goal from the 1 for the win.
Hurley's fired a 75-yarder to Jalen Randolph to score on the game's first play from scrimmage. He threw an 86-yard touchdown to Harrison for a 23-16 lead with 1:37 remaining in regulation before the Dukes (2-3, 0-2) forced OT in the final 30 seconds.
Hurley finished with 295 yards. Harrison had four receptions for 127 yards. Wes Hills led the rushing for Delaware with 136 yards on 17 carries.
Vad Lee was 25 of 44 for 252 yards and two touchdowns for the Dukes. He also scored a running touchdown.
