James Madison rolls Elon 59-27
HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Vad Lee threw three touchdown passes and James Madison rolled up 491 total yards to beat Elon 59-27 on Saturday.
Jauan Latney carried 24 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while Khalid Abdullah added 92 yards on 11 carries, two rushing scores and a TD reception. Lee completed 23 of 25 passes for 257 yards and ran for a 6-yard score in the rout.
The Dukes (9-3, 6-2 Colonial Athletic Conference) built a 17-0 first quarter lead on 3-yard touchdown runs by both Latney and Abdullah and a 34-yard field goal by Ryan Maglio.
Elon (1-11, 0-8) took advantage of a second quarter JMU fumble and scored on the next play, a 30-yard touchdown pass from Justin Osborne to Mike Quinn.
But James Madison scored touchdowns on its next four possessions -- including Abdullah's 5-yard run and 6-yard catch -- to run up a 45-7 halftime advantage.
