Harvard has 3rd-straight shutout of Columbia 45-0
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Connor Sheehan returned two interceptions for touchdowns and Matt Koran had one as Harvard hand Columbia its 19th straight loss, 45-0 on Saturday.
The Crimson (8-0, 5-0) had no problem running their winning streak against the Lions (0-8, 0-5) to 10 as Sheehan and Koran had 48- and 34-yard returns, respectively, in the first quarter. Sheehan took a Trevor McDonagh pass 49 yards the other way in the third quarter, the first time since Dante Balestraccis in 2000 a Harvard player had two interception returns for scores.
Harvard forced six turnovers in blanking Columbia for the third-straight year, out-scoring the Lions 148-0.
Semar Smith scored twice for the Crimson, a 22-yard reception from Scott Hosch making it 28-0 at the half and a 3-yard run on the first drive on the third quarter. Smith finished with 114 yards on 11 carries.
