Kacsor, Dayton beat Davidson 54-48 in 5OT
DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Connor Kacsor scored four touchdowns in overtime and Tom Fanning ended the fifth overtime by intercepting J.P. Douglas as Dayton pulled out a wild 54-48 win over Davidson on Saturday.
Dayton (3-1, 1-0 Pioneer League), led 13-7 entering the fourth quarter. Trevor Smith kicked a 44-yard field goal for Davidson (1-5, 0-2) on the final play of regulation to tie the game at 27. Prior to that, the teams had swapped touchdowns on four-straight possessions in the last 5:24.
Kacsor finished with 213 yards on 47 carries, scoring on runs of 2, 4, 4 and 6 yards. He also had a two-point conversion in the third OT.
Douglas finished 38 of 58 for 313 yards for Davidson and had four scores, two in the fourth quarter and two in OT.
Both teams missed field goals in the second overtime.
Will Bardo threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns, the last going to Gabe Macis with 56 seconds in regulation.
