Drake rolls over Valparaiso 31-7
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Conley Wilkins ran for two touchdowns and caught a scoring pass as Drake rolled over Valparaiso 31-7 in Pioneer League play on Saturday.
Wilkins rushed for 59 yards on 12 carries for the Bulldogs (3-3, 2-1). Andy Rice threw for 112 yards and a score and Josh Lee kicked two field goals.
After running for a pair of touchdowns in the first half, Wilkins caught his third, a 12-yard pass from Rice on fourth down, to give the Bulldogs a 21-0 lead early in the third quarter. Then Brock Reichardt ran for a 4-yard score to make it 28-0.
Lee drilled a 37-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to put Drake up 31-0 with 10:55 to play.
Valparaiso finally scored on a 17-yard pass from Ryan Clarke to Frank Catrine with 8:05 remaining.
Clarke finished with 165 yards passing for the Crusaders (2-4, 1-2).
