Jenkins, Clemons lead JSU over Austin Peay 34-14
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Eli Jenkins and Josh Clemons scored two touchdowns each and Jacksonville State defeated Austin Peay 34-14 on Saturday.
Clemons' 1-yard run gave the Gamecocks a 21-7 lead in the third quarter and Jenkins added his first TD run, a 5-yarder, later in the period. Clemons' 46-yard score in the fourth quarter made it 34-7.
Jenkins, who became the third Ohio Valley Conference player to go over 10,000 yards in career offense, threw 11 yards to Demontez Terry to open the scoring and his 4-yard run gave Jacksonville State a 14-7 halftime lead.
The Gamecocks (5-1, 2-0 Ohio Valley) extended their home win streak to 12, the longest active streak in the FCS, and also notched their 19th consecutive win over an OVC opponent and 10th straight over the Governors (0-6, 0-5).
Clemons finished with 143 yards on 19 carries and Jenkins 117 on 15 along with 72 yards passing.
