In the 2021 college football season, the coaching carousel has been spinning from the start.
The first top-tier school to make a move, USC, did so on Sept. 13 when it fired Clay Helton. Less than two years after winning a national championship at LSU, Ed Orgeron couldn't make it out of October with the Tigers. (He'll finish the season, though.)
And then two Big 12 schools in the state of Texas made coaching changes at the end of October. Gary Patterson may be a legend at TCU -- with the on-campus statue to prove it -- but the Horned Frogs parted ways with their longtime coach on Halloween. And at Texas Tech, Matt Wells couldn't make it through his third year before AD Kirby Hocutt made a change.
That's just the beginning. We've also seen changes at Akron, Georgia Southern and UConn with more surely on the way. Keep up with all the latest coaching changes here over the next month.
