It's tight at the top of the betting odds to win next season's College Football Playoff.
Indiana and Ohio State are the co-favorites, each listed at 7-1 at DraftKings Sportsbook, followed by Texas and Notre Dame at +750. Some sportsbooks have the teams in different order -- Notre Dame and Ohio State are co-favorites at FanDuel -- but those four are on top everywhere. Oregon (+850) and Georgia (+950) round out the teams with odds shorter than +1000.
The Hoosiers became the biggest preseason long shot to win the national championship in at least 25 years on Monday, by outlasting Miami in one of the most improbable title games matchups in college football history.
Indiana was 100-1 and longer to win the national championship when the season kicked off. The Hoosiers overcame the odds and capped an undefeated season with a thrilling 27-21 win over the Hurricanes, who were underdogs even to get into the playoff in December.
The Hoosiers will be replacing Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza and several other key players from their championship team next season. Miami, which also will be looking for a new quarterback, heads into the offseason at 20-1 to win the 2026 national championship.
LSU, under new coach Lane Kiffin, has the seventh-shortest title odds at 12-1. As of Tuesday, only Notre Dame and Indiana had attracted more money wagered to win next season's title at DraftKings.
The 2026 College Football Playoff championship will take place Jan. 27 in Las Vegas.
