SMU picked up its first 2013 commitment, as under-the-radar offensive lineman Freddie Johnson (Temple, Texas) verbally committed to the Mustangs. Johnson, a 6-foot-2, 302-pound tackle, chose SMU over an offer from Eastern Illinois and interest from Baylor, Texas Tech and Texas State.
