When Roulston and Egan were in the middle, the Lightning would have been worried that their above par total was in danger. Roulston played excellently for his highest score in List A cricket. Although the experience that the Lightning have in their bowling showed as they took three quick wickets to leave the Warriors trying to catch up with DLS, with the rain continuing to threaten. The Warriors batters couldn't find the boundary when they needed it and eventually fell 20 runs short. At the end of the day, the batting blitz that George Dockrell put on, combined with the two wickets that he picked up has meant that he has been named the player of the match. With the victory, the Lightning pick up four points for the win and move to the top of the fledling IP20 table. With bad weather hanging around the ground all day, a shout out should definitely go to the groundstaff and match officials for making sure that we got as much play in as we did today. A good way to kick off the new season. The great news is that you won't have to wait long for your next dose of IP20 cricket. Tomorrow sees the first of the double headers this season, with the first action due to start at 10:45am. Hope that you can join me then. Until then, this is Justin saying goodnight from an overcast Bready.
Last ball, maybe....
